Global Shop Solutions ETO ERP Powers Big Projects in Peru
Global Shop Solutions’s Project Management application and Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system have become industry-leading tools in the Engineer-to-Order (ETO) ERP market. Project Management replaces multiple manual systems in MS Excel™ and MS Project™. With Project Management, Global Shop Solutions customers can look at costs and schedules of complex projects in real-time through a simple, integrated interface.
An early adopter of Global Shop Solutions’s ETO ERP system, FIMA Peru is an engineer-to-order, make-to-order manufacturer that provides custom design, engineering and manufacturing services to the mining, fishing, construction, oil and energy, and sugar processing industries. Headquartered in Callao, Peru, the company’s products range from processing equipment and pollution control products to turnkey fish processing plants, rock quarry crushing, sorting and handling systems, and production equipment for oil refineries and gas installations.
Founded in 1969, FIMA employs more than 900 employees in three different plants. The company also builds pressure tanks and other large steel structures, makes and sells several types of FIMA-branded processing machines, and can mount and install machines purchased from other suppliers. FIMA is ISO 9001:2008 certified, and holds several certifications from the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
“It used to take us five days to schedule a week’s worth of jobs,” says Alejandro Canelo, FIMA’s scheduling manager. “With GS LARGE, we just input the data and Global Shop Solutions One-System ERP™ software automatically schedules the jobs according to the parameters we set up in the system. With three separate plants to operate, you can imagine how much time this saves us!”
