Pacor, Inc. ERP Case Study
Industry
Metal Fabrication
Challenge
Pacor previously relied on a homegrown, accounting-based software system that lacked robust inventory management and shop floor control. As a result, inventory updates were performed manually, leading to inaccuracies, inefficient processes and limited real-time visibility. These limitations hindered Pacor's ability to optimize costs, efficiently manage operations across multiple sites and scale its business effectively.
Results
With Global Shop Solutions ERP, Pacor achieved real-time inventory management, eliminated manual inventory counts and standardized operations across all locations. The company realized annual inventory savings of $40,000, saved over 600 hours previously spent on physical counts and reduced month-end closing time from 10 days to 3. Enhanced visibility and accurate job costing contributed to an additional $2 million in revenue, improved operational control and better cost management.

I like that fact that (Global Shop Solutions) is a family-owned business. They seem to understand our needs better, and they went out of their way during the initial implementation process to make sure we had a successful launch. We feel like Global Shop Solutions is more than just an ERP vendor; they’re a partner in the long-term success of our business.

About Pacor
Pacor is a U.S.-based fabricator and distributor of thermal and acoustical insulation products, serving OEMs and companies in the HVAC, commercial cooking equipment, rail car and power generation industries. With operations in New Jersey, North Carolina and Georgia, Pacor offers a wide range of insulation products and fabrication services.
The Challenge
Managing inventory and production with a legacy, accounting-focused software system, Pacor faced significant inefficiencies. Manual inventory updates resulted in outdated and inaccurate data, making it difficult to manage and reconcile inventory, control costs and maintain operational consistency between sites. The lack of real-time visibility and advanced shop floor control further limited the company's capacity to support ongoing growth and operational demands.
The Solution
Recognizing the need for an integrated, manufacturing-centric ERP system, Pacor evaluated multiple solutions and selected Global Shop Solutions ERP for its comprehensive functionality and ease of use. As President and CEO Ron Latini shares, “Global Shop Solutions was very user friendly. It was easy to navigate through the different screens without getting lost and you could get an amazing amount of information from just one screen. What really sealed the deal for us was the software’s complete integration from estimating through collections, which allows us to manage all three of our locations within one system.” Implementation enabled Pacor to centralize its data and processes, giving users real-time access to manufacturing, inventory and financial information. According to IT Manager Anna Kazmierczuk, "With FLOOOM, we can easily see the different costing components for each part. Before, we had to spend a lot of time digging up the data from many different reports. Now we can get a breakdown of all material, labor and overhead costs from one screen." The Global Shop Solutions support team also ensured reliable technical assistance, with Kazmierczuk noting, “With Global Shop Solutions, I can call any time to get help on a technical issue and that includes evenings and weekends. Whether I’m doing updates or fixes over the weekend, it’s nice to know that I don’t have to wait until Monday to get a response.”
The Results
By leveraging Global Shop Solutions ERP, Pacor eliminated the need for manual inventory counts, resulting in an annual savings of $40,000 and reclaiming over 600 hours previously spent on physical counts. Month-end closing processes were accelerated from 10 days to just 3, while real-time data and advanced job costing improved overall cost control and production efficiency. These enhancements led to $2 million in additional revenue, driven in part by more competitive pricing and improved operational insights. As Ron Latini reflects, “Much of that increase is due to knowing our costs better. In the past, we thought we knew our costs. But we weren’t very accurate, so we sold product at uncompetitive pricing. With the data available in Global Shop Solutions, we’ve been able to eliminate a lot of waste and drive unnecessary costs out of the production process. As result, we’ve landed some new business we weren’t successful in getting before.”
