Manufacturers that use ERP software appreciate stability on their software company’s service team. Global Shop Solutions is proud to celebrate 10 years of dedicated service from Doug Johnson, Technical Service Manager.

Johnson brings the will-do attitude he developed in the Marines to everything he does at Global Shop Solutions. Customers know him as a great problem solver who always finds a way. Colleagues respect his tireless energy, attention to detail, and leadership abilities.

“Doug has that rare combination of technical expertise and great leadership skills,” says Mike Melzer, VP of Operations & Service at Global Shop Solutions. “His teams run like clockwork. He makes it fun for new employees starting in service. And he motivates them to get better so they can advance in their careers.”

Johnson started out at Global Shop Solutions as a service consultant, resolving technical software questions and assisting customers with new software installations, updates, upgrades and conversions. He quickly moved up to Service Manager, leading a team of 20 who solve service requests from our customers.

In 2018, Johnson was promoted to Service Manager, where he oversees a team of senior technical specialists on all aspects of hardware/infrastructure, system performance, data migrations from legacy systems, software update issues, and other complex ERP application-specific issues.

Johnson’s biggest accomplishment so far has been the creation of Global Shop Solutions’ Service team – a team focused on helping customers resolve minor technical issues over the phone in an average of 20 minutes.

“The best thing about Doug is he doesn’t miss anything. I sleep easier at night knowing I can give him any project and he will find a way to get it done.”

“Great leaders make everyone around them better,” adds Dusty Alexander, President and CEO. “Not only is Doug very tech-savvy, he also extends his unselfish attitude to growing his team. Global Shop Solutions would not be where we are today without his efforts and initiatives.”
