Global Shop Solutions is proud to announce the 35th anniversary of President & CEO Dusty Alexander, which marks a significant milestone in the family company’s growth and success. Under Alexander’s steadfast leadership, innovation and commitment to helping manufacturers simplify their operations, Global Shop Solutions is one of the last and largest family-owned ERP companies with no debt and no outside investment.

Over the last 35 years, Alexander led the expansion of the software into several geographies including Canada, Latin America and Asia Pacific. To support this rapid international growth, he opened offices in Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Further, he expanded the global headquarters in the Woodlands, Texas by building an onsite R&D Excellence Center and a Customer Training Center. Today, Global Shop Solutions proudly serves customers in over 25 industries in 30 countries, employs more than 320 employees and has offices in seven countries.

As the manufacturing industry became more sophisticated, so did the ERP software. With the release of new ERP products, Alexander continues to offer customers additional capabilities to work the way they need to work. These include the Advanced Planning & Scheduling, Global Application Builder (GAB) SDK, GS Mobile, Project Management, Quality Control, Shop Floor Data Collection, Dashboard Designer, Process Documentation & Training, Cloud ERP and AI-driven ERP solutions.

"As President & CEO, Dusty has consistently championed ideas that put our customers first. His leadership led to the launch of our Cloud ERP product, unlocking new opportunities for growth, scalability and long-term success for the businesses we serve. His ability to anticipate market shifts, combined with his relentless focus on listening to customer needs, exemplifies the kind of forward-thinking leadership that drives meaningful change. This has not only shaped our company’s direction but also empowered our customers to thrive. This type of vision is what sets great leaders apart."

Additionally, during his tenure the company revenue multiplied nearly 10-fold, employee growth tripled and he launched the Customer Care and Continuous Improvement teams.

“Dusty is the kind of leader who gives the trust and tools to build meaningful change in our business and in the manufacturing industry. He has worked his entire career to make manufacturers more efficient and his unwavering focus on our customers’ success is inspiring, pushing his employees to bring their best every single day.”

Mike Melzer, Vice President of Operations and Service, Global Shop Solutions

“Dusty has a rare ability to connect big-picture strategy with day-to-day customer needs,” says Trent Maynard, Director of Product & Engineering. “He sees firsthand what our customers experience, and that perspective drives his support for major initiatives like improving our tech stack. His leadership ensures we’re investing in the right technologies to deliver long-term value.”

Alexander adheres to three pillars of success – hire and retain great talent, listen closely to the customer and never stop improving the product. As he looks into the future of the business and the industry, he plans to continue developing new tools, products and services that will allow customers to focus on what they do best – making quality products. Enabling customers to tailor ERP even more to their unique business needs supports a long-standing Global Shop Solutions maxim – “deliver a quality part on time, every time.”

“I fell in love with manufacturing from my first day on the job," says Alexander, "and it has always been the people we serve and what we do for them that keeps me revved up every day. I come to work determined to make a great product and great services that benefit our customers and their employees. My 35 years here have been an honor.”
